What is CBD?
Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is a non-psychoactive compound commonly found in the hemp plant, and has a various number of strains. CBD can be used for a variety of different reasons, including but definitely not limited to; easing pain and inflammation, slowing down the rate of cancer cells, relaxation, and sleep.
CBD products come in many forms, such as edibles, tinctures, teas, lotions, massage oils, and more. There are also three different categories that these products fall under: Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum and Isolate. CBD is also most effective when used on a constant and consistent basis. Below you will find more information on the three different categories of CBD products.
What's the difference between Isolate, Broad Spectrum, and Full Spectrum CBD?
These terms are seen everywhere that you see CBD, but it’s never obvious what the difference is by the product, so we’d love to explain!
- Full Spectrum CBD will contain all or nearly all of the cannabinoids found in a hemp plant. There are at least 115 cannabinoids found in the hemp plant so not only will you be taking in more cannabinoids than just CBD but also the healthy protein from the plant and omega 3,6,9’s. Imagine wringing a hemp plant out like a washcloth and skipping any extraction methods. This is also including CBG which is additionally great for inflammation, CBC which has been prominently known to assist with cognitive flares like anxiety, depression and pain relief. Plus .03% THC (or less) which has many benefits including better sleep and better gut health.
- Broad Spectrum CBD is almost identical to Full Spectrum. Except there is 0% THC. There are all of the benefits of Full Spectrum but again no THC whatsoever. This will benefit people who can not have any THC in their system like government workers, CDL drivers or private business employees who have zero tolerance systems against THC.
- Isolate CBD solely contains just one cannabinoid. Some benefits people may find are financially you will be able to see Isolate CBD products are a lot cheaper than Full Spectrum products. Many people receive enough benefits from CBD alone to give them the relief they were looking for.
What is the Endocannabinoid System?
The Endocannabinoid System or what we will further call ECS is a set of receptors located throughout your entire body that have both cognitive and physical benefits.
The ECS benefits homeostasis to keep balance to your body’s natural state. CB1 & CB2 are the two receptors that work with cannabinoids. CB1 has neurological receptors examples being; pain, dopamine and serotonin receptors. CB2 provides aid in one's immune system plus gut & colon health. For more info on the ECS, we go into more detail in our post ‘CBD and the Endocannabinoid System’.

If you typically take a multivitamin in the morning, add to that or switch it with one of our great options of vitamin or superfood CBD gummies. CBD capsules are another great switch from pain pills. We also suggest oral tinctures or inhalation products. You get 100% of the product this way so there is no need for digestion or to have anything pass your liver. Topicals like lotions and salves are a great addition to these other options! The cannabinoids will work tremendously better outside of your body when you have it in your body. Consistency is key! The more you use cannabinoids the less your body has to learn what they are.
How to use CBD?
